URGENT- DO NOT USE HARTZ PRODUCTS!!!

In my last post, I showed photos of my recently deceased kitty Iggy. Her death had been bothering me for a couple days, because it just didn’t make sense. (I had spared you all the horrible details of her excruciating death.)  So, I researched kidney and liver failure in cats online, but that didn’t satisfy me. Since I had put Hartz Ultra Guard flea & tic drops on her 2 days before, and she acted like she had been poisoned when she died, I googled “Hartz”.  I am devastated and APPALLED at what I found. There are actually websites for victims of Hartz products!!!  PLEASE help me spread the word to all your animal owning friends, relatives, co-workers or even everyone in your email address book! I usually use ADVANTAGE for my cats, but since times are tight, I made the fatal decision while in Walmart the other day, to save a little money by buying Hartz Ultra Guard flea & tic drops.  You can read my complete story and MANY others at www.hartzvictims.org (I signed my name, but it was posted as anonymous).

Baby Jacob

Wow, it’s been a while! I have a lot of blogging to catch up on….. Lots going on as usual. Another death in the family this week – this time my cat who had been with me for 13 years!  She was soooooo adorable when she was a kitten.

Also, Jerry’s mom is in the hospital with a serious illness. She’s going to be moved to another hospital in Iowa City for the care she needs. He drove back to Iowa and arrived this evening. His family has been through a lot lately and could really use some prayer! Jerry’s hoping to get a room at a Ronald McDonald house, since they have no family in Iowa City.

THANKFULLY, with death and sadness, comes new life and happiness as well!  I took these photos of my friend Kristina’s 3 week old nephew Jacob.

This is Baby Jacob’s adorable cousin Cian (pronounced ‘key-in’). We got him to sit in this chair for about 5 seconds, and this was the only photo I was able to get before he hopped off the chair.  Lucky shot!

He could get you to do just about anything with those eyes, huh!?

I’m Back

I’ve been feeling kinda down in the dumps for a while due to our cousin’s sudden death, but it’s time to get refocused on LIVING! Jerry went out of town for the funeral for 10 days – man, being a single parent can be TOUGH!  Duh, right?  It’s easy to say it, but a whole nuther (yes, it’s a real word – really!) thing to live it. Oh, & I’ve learned that you can see your child treat you (Mommy) differently (worse) than EVERYONE else as early as 20 months old!  Sat in all those parent conferences over the years thinking “MY child won’t act like that!” – Me- the experienced teacher with all the behavior management techniques – Yeah, right! They work great on OTHER people’s kids. Amazing. Why does she hit me in the face, but doesn’t do that to anyone else?  Kinda scarey.

So, as I was saying in my last blog, I had just returned from Kitty Hawk.  It was a girls’ trip (all Moms) with a bunch of my friends from Gloucester, Virginia.  Here’s some photos… there’s a couple more, but I want to edit the big zit off my forehead first . I used a tripod, timer, and jumped in & out …

 Everyone went for my corny “Let’s all wear pink shirts” idea!
