Prayers for Broken Hearts

I don’t even know where to begin this post.

This weekend, I drove to Kitty Hawk, NC.  I drove 1,300 miles by myself and made it home safely. Shortly after arriving home, my husband Jerry got a phone call that his cousin Rich had just been killed in a motorcycle accident. He was just making a quick trip to Walmart.

Rich was only in his 40s and has a wife (Mary) and young son (Tristen) that he’s left behind. I can’t imagine how devastated his family is and how much pain they’re going through right now. I’m finding comfort in knowing that Rich had accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior.

Rich was a really sweet guy, and a joy to be around. A hard working, family man. He was in our wedding, and we were looking forward to them coming for a visit this summer. We were planning a family road trip to Tampa Busch Gardens, then down to the Keys.

Please remember our loved one Rich Jacobs’ family in your thoughts and prayers, and use this as a reminder to cherish every moment and let your family & friends know you love them. It’s so easy to take life for granted.

Love, Heidi
